Triskele Journal A6
A6 - 240 pages. Hand dyed black kangaroo leather
with silver triskele carved into leather cover, and a 'JS' monogram
on the spine.
The Celtic triskele (or triskelion) is composed
of three interlocking spirals. The spiral is an ancient symbol relating
to the sun and the continual movement of life. In the form of a
triskele the spirals represent the three phases of life - birth,
life and death. In modern Wicca the connection here would be to
the Goddess as Maiden/Mother/Crone - but let's trace the thread
through the origins of Celtic knotwork back to the vikings.
In old Norse mythology the three sisters of fate
are Urd (the past), Verdandi (the being) and Skuld (what is to come).
They live beneath the roots of Yggdrasil, the world tree, where
they weave the tapestry of fate. Each person's life is a string
in their loom, and the length of the string is the length of the
person's life.
The book is sewn in French style and has a spinal
insert. Black satin ribbon bookmark with straight diagonal cut.
Special purple headbands. Purple silk endpapers.
Cover: 113mm W x 159mm H (4.45 x 6.26in).

Quinta Essentia Wardrobe -
The Path in Me
A4 - 424 pages (212 sheets). Hand dyed and polished
kangaroo leather finished in purple Oxblood. Hand carved Celtic
knotwork leaf designs in each corner, painted gold. Front flap
opens to reveal 'The path for me is the path in me' carved in
gold letters on inside cover. Two small hand carved Triquetra
symbols on the cover and one on the spine.
The Triquetra (or Triqueta) was made famous
by the TV series 'Charmed' and is a Celtic symbol of the triple
Goddess (maid, mother, and crone). It can also represent mind,
body, and soul, as well as the three domains of Earth - land,
sea, and sky. A circle binds the three together as one.
The term "Quinta Essentia" refers to the fifth
element (besides fire, water, earth and air) which permeates all
of nature and is the substance composing the celestial bodies
- the stuff of stars that links everything together - the soul
of the universe. The quintessence is the finest or best of any
substance, which is a fitting description for the carved leather
range of Witches Wardrobe books.
The book is post bound to allow pages to be removed for printing
a few pages at a time and then returned. The main cover front,
back and spine are made from one continuous piece of leather which
fastens together with four brass posts (Chicago screws). Antique
key bookmark anchored to the cover. Rose elephant hide endpapers.
Cover: 236mm W x 310mm H (9.29 x 12.20in). Depth: 40-60mmD (1.57-2.36in)
Page: 210mm W x 297mm H (8.27 x 11.69in). Weight: 1.875kg (4.13lb).
